An investigation of the rock magnetization in natural occurrence from the measurements in superdeep and deep boreholes

In 1995 on the basis of the Kola Superdeep Borehole (SG-3) the world’s first Kola deep geolaboratory (KGL) was established. One of the main goals of the geolaboratory is the study of space-time variations of geofields and properties of the upper and medium crust by long-term operating observations – monitoring. Organization of the geofield monitoring started at the same time with organization and establishing the geolaboratory and was performed in three stages. Since the geolaboratory establishing during 9 years a range of investigations and observation techniques in the KGL conditions have been determined. Observations of variations in geofields and the environment properties have been performed. New observation procedure has been developed and tested. The data obtained and accumulated experience point to the necessity of continuing geofield monitoring and increasing the number of the applied methods.
